Dear friends,

I hope you are all well with the infinite mercy of Allah Almighty. I am also well and healthy to accept your prayers and the infinite mercy of Allah Almighty.

Honesty of an open enemy vs. Deception of a friendly enemy

"An open enemy is good but a secret enemy is not a cheap friend" – this proverb reveals a deep truth about human character. This is not just a saying, but a valuable philosophy derived from life experience. The transparency and caution that can be maintained in relations with an open enemy is not possible with an enemy hidden behind the veil of friendship. And this carelessness can bring great danger in life.

1. Advantages of an open enemy: Caution and preparation

An open enemy is a person whose opposition or hostility is clear to everyone. When a person knows that a certain person is his enemy, he is mentally prepared and takes the necessary precautions to protect himself.

Clarity: The hostility of an open enemy is as clear as day. Their intentions and movements are known in advance, so it is easy to develop strategies to deal with them.

Vigilance: People are naturally cautious due to the presence of an enemy. This caution prevents them from taking unnecessary risks and helps them to protect their personal or weak points.

Self-Improvement: Many times, due to an open enemy, one can identify one's mistakes or weaknesses. In response to the enemy's attack or criticism, the motivation to become stronger and better is created.

Absence of treachery: An open enemy never disguises himself as a friend, so there is no fear of treachery from them. The attack comes face to face.

In short, an open enemy is basically a warning, which teaches people to always be vigilant.

2. Dangers of a friendly enemy: Deception and betrayal

The second part of the proverb is, "A secret enemy is better than a cheap friend". Such people are the most dangerous. They come wearing a mask of friendship, know your weaknesses and strike at the last moment. The risk of being harmed by them is much higher than that of an open enemy. Their friendly enemy or in English is called 'Wolf in Sheep's Clothing'.

Deception: A friendly enemy is a symbol of deception. They assure you of friendship but learn everything about your life's secrets, weaknesses, plans and desires. You do not put up any resistance because you trust them.

Unforeseen Attack: These enemies strike at a time when you are completely unprepared. This blow of betrayal of trust is more damaging and causes emotional suffering than the attack of an open enemy. It is often a stab in the back.

Damage to Resources: As friends, they can destroy your credibility, wealth, relationships, and peace of mind. Because they hold important information about your life.

Pain of Betrayal: When a loved one or friend is revealed as an enemy, the emotional shock is far-reaching. It not only causes damage, but also destroys the ability to trust anyone else as a human being in the future.

The behavior of a friendly enemy is basically similar to the behavior of hypocrites or hypocrites, who pretend to be good on the outside but harbor extreme hostility on the inside.

3. Importance of the proverb in philosophy of life

The lesson of this proverb is that deep attention should be paid to building relationships with people in life.

Accepting reality: There will be enemies in life. The number of enemies of an honest and successful person is not small. However, open enemies can be easily dealt with.

Conflict of interest: Many times this friendly hostility is created out of greed and fear of loss. When someone sees that your success or wealth is a threat to them, they start enmity under the guise of friendship.

Maintaining balance: The Hadith also talks about maintaining a balance between friends and enemies. Just as too much friendship is not good, neither is too much enmity. Because a friend can become an enemy someday and an enemy can become a friend in the future. Therefore, one should not trust anyone blindly.

An open enemy warns you, teaches you to be ready on the battlefield. Even if they want to harm you, you can know their movements. On the other hand, an enemy who is too friendly takes advantage of your trust and simplicity, secretly weakens your foundation. Their blows are unexpected and their betrayal hits deep into the soul.

Therefore, it is easy to fight an open enemy, because you know who your opponent is. But it is much more difficult to recognize and deal with an enemy hidden behind the guise of friendship. That is why the proverb says: An open enemy is good, but a secret enemy is not a cheap friend. It is essential to remember this truth on the path of life.
