Obscene language means the use of words or sentences that are ugly, disrespectful, inaudible or obscene. Nowadays, many people consider the use of obscene words in speech as a means of expressing style or anger, but this tendency gradually lowers a person in the eyes of society. This article will discuss how obscene language destroys the dignity of a person, damages social relationships and disrupts society as a whole.

1. Definition and characteristics of obscene language:

Obscene language is a type of language that creates an adverse reaction in the listener, violates the boundaries of decency and humiliates or embarrasses others. Generally, such language contains swear words, sexually suggestive innuendos, ugly similes, etc. Although it is sometimes used in the guise of anger, hatred, jealousy or humor, its effect is always negative.

2. Degradation of social status:

When a person repeatedly uses obscene language, his personality is damaged in the eyes of society. He is considered an uneducated, rude and uncontrolled person. Respect and trust towards him in family, friends and workplace decreases. Gradually, people move away from him and at some point he becomes isolated in society.

If someone uses obscene language in a workplace, it spoils the attitude of colleagues, makes the office environment uncomfortable and professionalism is lost. Many organizations consider such behavior as a punishable offense. If even a skilled employee repeatedly uses obscene language, he may lose the opportunity for promotion and may even lose his job.

The use of foul language gradually creates anger, jealousy, contempt and lack of empathy in a person's mind. This leads to a loss of self-control, and he easily gets angry and does not learn to respect others. Such behavior eventually becomes a sign of weakness of character.

The use of polite language is considered very important in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent." (Bukhari and Muslim). Obscene or ugly words are forbidden or forbidden in Islam. Those who abuse, use obscene language are strictly prohibited. As a result, a Muslim should control his tongue and use clean, respectful language.

Obscene language is not just words of the mouth, it is a reflection of a person's mind. Those who repeatedly use obscene language are unknowingly destroying their social status, ruining relationships and revealing weaknesses in character. An educated, civilized and values-based person will never resort to such language. Therefore, we should avoid vulgar language and practice the use of decent and beautiful language, so that our dignity in society remains intact and we can live a better and respectable life.
