Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barkatuhu.

Dear friends, I hope you are all well and I am also well with your prayers and the infinite mercy of Allah Almighty.

Excessive or excessive love can really disrupt the natural development of a child and push him to go astray. However,

The nature of excessive love and its effects

Excessive love or pampering refers to when parents or guardians take their affection and care for the child to such an extent that it becomes harmful to the child. This does not mean that the child should be loved less, rather it means bringing balance in the expression of love and creating the necessary boundaries and sense of responsibility for the child's proper development.

1. Lack of responsibility and self-reliance:

Excessive love is often expressed by doing all the work for the child. As a result, the child does not learn to take any responsibility for himself. He thinks that there is always someone to solve all his problems and meet his needs.

Deviance: When he enters the outside world, he breaks down even in the slightest difficult situation. Excessive dependence on others makes him indecisive. As a result, he may seek refuge with the wrong people or in wrong habits, which lead him astray.

2. Lack of tolerance and mental resilience:

Due to excessive care, children often do not face any kind of failure, hardship, or adversity. Parents fulfill their every wish and remove all obstacles.

Deviance: Life is not always smooth. When faced with a rejected wish or a major failure, they quickly become frustrated or angry due to their lack of mental resilience. To get rid of this frustration, they may turn to drugs, crime, or risky behavior.

3. Indifference to rules and boundaries:

Children who are given excessive freedom and are not taught any rules or boundaries often think of themselves as above everything. With excessive indulgence from their parents, they develop the idea that they do not have to be held accountable for their actions.

Deviance: This mindset later develops disrespect for laws or social norms. They feel that they do not have to suffer the consequences of any mistake. As a result, they do not hesitate to violate the rights of others and may engage in criminal activities.

4. Arrogance and self-centeredness:

Excessive praise and acceptance of all demands can lead to excessive arrogance and self-centeredness in children. They believe that they are special and that their needs are the most important.

Deviance: Such children lose empathy or respect for others. They may easily mistreat others or use others for their own gain. When this behavior is rejected by friends or society, they become more isolated and are at greater risk of being misled.

5. Misconceptions about love:

Children who grow up with excessive pampering do not understand the difference between love and material possessions. They think that love means meeting all their needs.

Deviance: When their desires are not met later in life, they feel an emotional void. To fill this void, they may turn to temporary sources of pleasure, such as making quick money, immoral relationships, or other destructive activities.

Balanced parenting is necessary for healthy development

To prevent a child from going astray, it is important to maintain a proper balance between love, freedom, and discipline.

1. Setting limits and accountability: Clear, consistent rules should be established for the child from childhood and he should be taught to be accountable for his actions.

2. Learning to accept failure: Encourage them to face small failures so that they are mentally prepared to face life's challenges.

3. Delegation of responsibilities: Give them small responsibilities according to their age (such as tidying up their things), which will make them self-reliant.

4. Development of empathy: Teach them to value other people's feelings and be respectful of others.

In short, exaggerated love is like a golden cage, which, although it seems to protect the child, actually cuts off the wings of his development. As a result, whenever he comes out of the cage, he becomes disoriented and chooses the wrong path without being able to fly. Love is certainly necessary to be guided in a healthy and right direction, but that love must be disciplined, prudent and realistic.

Do you think the economic prosperity of modern society is a major reason behind this excessive love?
