Today in this post I am eating an unripe fruit which is ripe in our country. Welcome all of you.
Lukluki or Paylagota is one of the unconventional and almost lost wild fruits of our country. At one time the lukluki fruit was found in the hilly lands of Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Patia, Boalkhali and Chandnaish in Chittagong and in the shallow bushes of the village. Even this lukewarm fruit was once scattered in Sylhet. This fruit can be sold in the market at a very high price during the fruit season. For now, we are so relieved that the fruit is being seen and recognized. At least the new generation is being told that - this new lukuluki in our country has a fruit!
This lukuluki or tipaphal is a delicious fruit with a sweet taste. Other common names for this fruit are: - Pelagota, Pala, Paylagota, Jhitki, Palagota, Turfai, Paniala, Paniamla, Painna, Painnagula, Behui etc. The English name for this lukewarm fruit is Indian plum or Coffee plum, scientific name- Flacourtia jangomas. The fruit is native to the lowland rainforest forests. This lukewarm fruit is not only fun to eat but also an excellent fruit for medicinal purposes.
This lukuluki tree is short to medium height. The height of this lukuluki fruit tree varies from four to five meters depending on the region. This lukuluki tree and its stalks are sharply thorny. Its spines are branched and clustered. The leaves are single, ovate and somewhat oblong and the apex is pointed. Its green leaves are slightly wavy. The edges of the leaves are slightly grooved. This lukuluki fruit usually flowers in March-April and the clustered flowers are small, white-green to purple and slightly fragrant.
This lukuluki fruit is round marble-like, the skin is thin and smooth. The fruit is green when raw and reddish-purple or brown when ripe. The inside of the ripe fruit is brown or dark pink in color. Inside this fruit are five to six small seeds. This lukuluki fruit ripens from monsoon to autumn. This fruit can be eaten with chutney or sherbet. The wood of this fruit is hard and strong.
Nutritional properties: - This lukewarm fruit contains 80% iron. In addition to sulfur, calcium, phosphate, vitamin C contains 10 percent and other ingredients are also present in this result.

Somewhere in our country this tree is also cultivated for wood. This lukuluki tree is known as the habitat of a type of fly called 'Queensland Fruit Fly'.
