Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barkatuhu.

Dear friends,

I hope you are all well with the infinite mercy of Allah Almighty. I am also well and healthy to accept your prayers and the infinite mercy of Allah Almighty.

Man Chahi Zindagi: The cause of our sorrow on both sides

One of the most complex and deep desires of human life is—Man Chahi Zindagi. That is, a life where all the desires of the human heart will be fulfilled, there will be no shortcomings, there will be no suffering. People think that if they had a life according to their wishes, they would be happy. But the reality is—while chasing this Man Chahi Zindagi, people create the cause of sorrow on both sides of their lives. Because the human heart is never stable, never satisfied, and never wants to accept limitations.

The human mind: There is no end to wanting

The human mind is such a thing that there is no end to wanting. What it gets today, it wants more tomorrow. When one dream is fulfilled, another dream is born immediately. Wealth, possessions, power, respect, beauty, love—people want perfection in everything. But in the pursuit of this perfection, people forget that the world is never a place of complete happiness. Happiness and sorrow go hand in hand here.

The expectation of a life as one desires distances people from reality. In real life, there are limitations, hardships, and tests. But people do not want to accept these. They want only joy in their life, no responsibilities, no sacrifices. This unreasonable expectation is the main cause of people's sorrow.

Apar: The cause of the sorrow of the world

As a result of wanting a life as one desires in this world, people fall into various kinds of injustice, disappointment, and unrest. Some sacrifice morality for money, some hurt people for power, and some cheat in the name of love. Because his mind wants more—and in the process of fulfilling that desire, he forgets the difference between right and wrong.

When a person's desires are not fulfilled, he becomes frustrated, depressed, and jealous. The happiness of others becomes a thorn in his side. He thinks, "Why is my life like this?" This question gives rise to unrest, family strife, social chaos, and mental illness.

The desire for a life makes a person forget gratitude. He does not appreciate the value of what he has received, but rather values what he has not received. As a result, he cannot be happy even in this world.

The other side: The cause of sorrow in the afterlife

Not only in this world, the delusion of the desire for a life also distances a person from the afterlife. When a person devotes all his attention to the happiness, enjoyment, and comfort of this world, he forgets to prepare for the afterlife. Worship, morality, and humanity—everything becomes secondary to him.

From an Islamic perspective, the world is a place of testing, and the hereafter is the place of results. But a person who wants the life he desires forgets this test and considers the world as his permanent abode. As a result, he indulges in sinful acts, drowns in pride and moves away from the remembrance of Allah. This situation becomes a cause of sorrow and punishment for him in the hereafter.

That is, while chasing the life he desires in the world, a person loses the peace of the hereafter—this is the main reason for the sorrow in the hereafter.

Why the life he desires never gives peace

The life he desires can never give people real peace, because—

1. The human mind is infinite, but the world is limited.

2. The more expectations increase, the more disappointment increases.

3. People's attraction to what they get decreases quickly.

4. Comparison never allows people to be happy.

When a person compares his life with the lives of others, he forgets his blessings. This comparison makes the life you want more complicated.

The solution

The only way to get rid of this sorrow is to control the desires of the mind and trust in Allah. If a person understands that everything will not be as he wishes, and that there is goodness in that, then he can achieve mental peace.

Gratitude, patience and restraint give people peace in this world and success in the hereafter. If a person accepts “Allah wants the life” instead of the life you want, then his life becomes easy.

Finally, it can be said that the life you want is a magical trap for people. Falling into this trap, people become restless in this world and suffer in the hereafter as well. The main reason for our sorrow on both sides - this unsatisfied mind and unlimited desires.

Therefore, to get real happiness, we have to discipline our minds, limit our desires and accept the reality of life. Only then will people find peace in this world and find the way to salvation in the hereafter.
