Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.
Achchalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barkatullah.
Dear friends, how are you all, I hope you are well by the grace of Almighty God, I am also well by the grace of Almighty God in your prayers
Dear friends, today I will discuss about sleeping in the light for you InshaAllah. We hope you enjoy the extension and learn more.
Many people have a habit of sleeping by lighting a soft light. Many people feel uncomfortable sleeping in the pitch dark. Some people become accustomed to reading books or going to sleep on the smartphone in the online alleys. However, if the room is not completely dark during sleep, the effectiveness of breast cancer drugs is reduced, said a group of researchers in the United States.
According to a research report published in the journal Cancer Research, soft light during sleep severely interferes with the work of tamoxifen, a popular breast cancer drug. In addition to the adequate presence of our sleep-regulating hormone melatonin, the effectiveness of this cancer drug is greatly reduced. This special hormone melatonin usually starts working after dusk and the secretion of this hormone increases as the night progresses.
The presence of more light reduces the secretion of this hormone which helps in sleep. Studies have shown that even in the dim light at night, problems with the circadian clock or the body's clock work can occur. Especially the bright blue light of TV or computer monitor or mobile phone has more harmful effects in these cases.
Experts from the School of Medicine at Tullen University in the United States conducted the study on the activity of tamoxifen in the human body. Studies have shown a link between our sleep-related hormones melatonin and the cancer drug tamoxifen. However, the matter has been tested not on the human body but on the body of the rat. As a result, researchers are unable to say anything definitive about this right now.
Experiments on the activity of tamoxifen in rats have shown that the animal's levels of melatonin are normal in a completely dark room, and that the cancer drug tamoxifen is working properly. And in the slightest light, the opposite is seen.
Steven Hill, a member of the research team, told the BBC: "People who have cancer and are taking tamoxifen-type drugs are not being advised to take melatonin (melatonin is on the market as a sleep aid). Because we still do not have any such data. But he advised everyone to sleep in a dark room. If necessary, you can sleep with a bandage over your eyes. This is because the drug tamoxifen is usually taken before going to sleep, and it is proven that melatonin plays a role in tamoxifen.
Many previous studies have shown that melatonin can help improve the treatment of cancer. This hormone also helps to inactivate cancer cells. Researcher Steven Hill believes that research will be done on this very soon and that it will play a role in preventing breast cancer.
So we all never sleep with lights on at night. God bless you.
