Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi Barkatuhu.
Dear friends, I hope you are all well, and I am also well and healthy with your prayers and the infinite mercy of Allah Taala. Today, my topic of discussion will be some words about faith. Welcome and congratulations to you all in this post.
How should our Islamic life be?
Islam is a complete system of life, which provides guidance in every aspect of human life from birth to death. The goal of Islam is to guide people towards a well-ordered, peaceful, pure and welfare-oriented life. Therefore, in answering this question, how should the life of a Muslim be? We follow the basic teachings of Islam, the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the ideals of the companions and the provisions of the Quran. Every step of a true Muslim's life is arranged in the light of Allah's guidance and Hadith. Below are the characteristics of an ideal Islamic life in detail.
1. A life founded on faith and creed
The beginning of Islamic life is faith. The first duty of every Muslim is to believe in pure monotheism—
Allah is one, there is no god but Him—this belief should be established in the heart.
When faith is strong, a person's life is naturally guided on the right path.
The elements of faith are—
Belief in Allah
Belief in the angels
Belief in the books
Belief in the prophets
Belief in the Day of Judgment
Belief in destiny
If these six main pillars are implemented in life, a person can create the foundation of a true Islamic life.
2. A life full of worship
Islamic life is not complete without worship. Worship is not limited to prayer, fasting, Hajj, and zakat; rather, every act done with the intention of pleasing Allah is worship.
The main basic acts of worship—
Prayer:
Prayer is the pillar of faith. Performing the five daily prayers properly is an essential part of a Muslim's life. Prayer brings purity to the heart, removes pride and prevents people from obscenity and immorality.
Fasting:
Fasting in Ramadan teaches people self-control. Through hunger and thirst, people gain patience, compassion and piety.
Zakat and Charity:
Zakat purifies the wealth of the rich and establishes the rights of the poor in society. Charity is a very important aspect of Islam, which is a means of achieving the pleasure of Allah.
Hajj:
Hajj is a mental, financial and physical training in Islam. It is the highest symbol of Muslim unity.
3. Characterful and moral life
The life of a Muslim should always be a reflection of good character. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said—
“I have been sent to perfect good character.”
Basic moral qualities—
Telling the truth
Protecting trusts
Keeping promises
Humility and modesty
Patience
Etiquette
Staying away from slander, backbiting, lying, and cheating
A true Muslim should be an ideal in the eyes of the common people.
4. A life of fear and piety
Islamic life is a life of piety—
where people think that Allah is always watching.
Piety keeps people away from all kinds of sins, oppression, cheating, unlawful earnings, and illegal activities.
Whoever fears Allah, Allah will make a way for him that he cannot even imagine—this is mentioned in the Quran.
5. A responsible life towards the family
In Islam, the family is the center of society and human life. What should be in a Muslim's family life -
Achieving the rights of his wife and children
Giving proper Islamic education to his descendants
Maintaining mutual respect and love within the family
Being kind to parents and the elderly
Maintaining peaceful marital relations
This idea that if the family is healthy, the society is healthy - is the basic foundation of Islam.
6. Social welfare-oriented life
Islam not only teaches personal development; but also teaches responsibility towards the society.
A Muslim's life should be -
Achieving the rights of his neighbor
Standing by the side of the poor and suffering people
Working for peace in the society
Being saddened by the suffering of others
Helping others
Not finding fault with others
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said -
"None of you can be a true believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself."
7. Earning a halal and pure livelihood
Halal livelihood is one of the foundations of Islamic life. Haram earnings prevent people from receiving their prayers and destroy their moral mindset.
A Muslim must earn his living honestly, hard and in a fair way. Fraud, interest, bribery and unjust gain in business or employment are strictly prohibited.
8. A balanced life between this world and the hereafter
Islam does not ask people to abandon this world, nor does it forbid people from being excessively greedy in this world.
A Muslim lives in balance between this world and the hereafter.
Hard work in worldly affairs
Saving for the hereafter
Moderation and restraint
Staying away from wastefulness, excessive consumerism
This is the successful life of a Muslim.
9. Education and the pursuit of knowledge
Islam has given great importance to knowledge. The first revelation was—
“Read in the name of your Lord.”
Just as religious knowledge is essential in the life of a Muslim, so is worldly knowledge.
Education teaches people—
the difference between right and wrong
purifies the mind
opens the way for progress in society
helps to plan in life
10. Kindness, forgiveness and tolerant life
Islam is a religion of kindness. One of the attributes of Allah is “Ar-Rahman, Ar-Raheem”—meaning the Merciful.
A Muslim must be—
forgiving
kindness
generous
generous
ready to forgive the mistakes of others
Forgiveness, not revenge, is the beauty of Islam.
11. Life following the Sunnah
The life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is the best model.
Eating habits, behavior, sleep, speech, transactions, family, worship—if you follow his Sunnah in every area, life becomes easy, peaceful, and
