Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu.

Dear friends, I hope you are all well, and I am also well and healthy by your prayers and the endless mercy of Allah Almighty.

Alhamdulillah, an important aspect of the fundamental beliefs of Islam has been highlighted. It clarifies the position of man between creation and the Creator and the main purpose of his life.

The two main concepts raised in your question—

1. The entire creation is the servant of man (i.e., dedicated to man), and

2. Man is the worshiper of Allah Almighty (i.e., the main purpose of man's creation is to worship Allah Almighty)—

These two concepts are discussed in detail on the basis of the Quran and Sunnah:

1. The entire creation is a servant of man: a great blessing

The great Allah Ta'ala has created this vast universe for man and has put it in his service. Every element of this universe, be it minute or vast, is subject to a specific law and is being used for the benefit of man. This is a great blessing and honor from Allah Ta'ala to man.

A. The Declaration of the Quran

In this regard, Allah Almighty has clearly declared in the Quran:

"It is Allah who created for you (humans) everything in the world..."

— [Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:29]

Elsewhere He says:

"And He has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and the earth, from Him..."

— [Surah Al-Jathiyah, 45:13]

These verses clearly prove that everything in the heavens and the earth, such as the sun, the moon, rivers, seas, plants, animals, wind, water, light, heat—all are used for the benefit of humans.

B. Nature of Service

Here are some examples of how creation serves humans:

Cosmic Service: The sun and the moon rotate in specific orbits to provide light, heat, and time measurement on the earth, which are essential for human life and activities. The cycle of night and day creates a natural balance for human rest and work.

Geographical and Natural Services: The earth is made suitable for human habitation. Soil provides food through crop production. Rain provides clean water for life. Plants provide oxygen and keep the environment cool.

Animal Services: Various animals are used for human food, clothing (leather), transportation, agriculture and other needs. Fish and other aquatic animals are the source of human food.

Materials for enjoyment: Allah Almighty has created fruits, crops, gems and many other beautiful and useful things on earth, which make human life enjoyable and easy.

All these services and materials bring a great sense of responsibility to humans. This does not mean that humans will do whatever they want; rather, it means using this great wealth as a trust given by Allah and expressing gratitude to Allah through it.

2. Man is the worshipper of Allah: The main purpose of creation

In contrast to the benefits and comforts that mankind enjoys through the service of creation, Allah Almighty only wants one thing from man—his worship or servitude. This is the main purpose of creating man.

A. The purpose stated in the Quran

Allah Almighty has clearly declared in the Quran the purpose of creating man and the jinn:

"And I have not created the jinn and mankind except that they may worship Me."

— [Surah Az-Zariyyat, 51:56]

This verse determines the main focus of human life—which is obedience and worship to Allah.

B. The comprehensive meaning of worship

In Islam, the word 'worship' is not limited to formal acts of worship such as prayer, fasting, Hajj, and zakat. Worship is a comprehensive concept. The meaning of worship is:

Serving Allah: Obeying Allah's commands and prohibitions in every aspect of life.

Complete obedience: Expressing complete love and humility towards Allah through all the visible and invisible actions and words that Allah loves and approves of.

Every act of life: All the lawful acts of a person's daily life, if they are done for the sake of Allah and according to the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), are considered worship. For example, earning an honest living, serving parents, treating one's wife well, acquiring knowledge, and even sleeping if done with the intention of pleasing Allah, are worship.

Service to Creation: Since the entire creation is dedicated to the service of man, an important part of human worship is to be kind to that creation and take proper care of it as a trust of Allah. Serving humanity, helping the helpless, preserving the environment, and even being kind to animals are also great acts of worship. The Hadith states,

"All creation is the family of Allah. Therefore, the most beloved person to Allah is the one who is kind to his family."

— [Mishkat, Hadith: 4989]

C. The Need for Worship

Allah is not dependent on human worship. Whether humans worship Him or not, His sovereignty or power does not diminish in the slightest. As stated in the Quran:

"I do not ask them for sustenance, nor do I ask that they provide Me with food. Allah is the Provider, the Source of Strength, the Exalted in Might."

— [Surah Az-Dhariyat, 51:57-58]

So what is the purpose of worship? The purpose of worship is:

Spiritual purification: Through worship, a person stays away from sin, purifies the soul, and gains closeness to Allah.

Expression of gratitude: It is the moral duty of a person to worship in gratitude for the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon him.

The path to saAnd the only way to attain Paradise.

3. The superiority and responsibility of man

Allah Almighty has created man as the Ashraful Makhlukat (the best creature of creation). He has given man the freedom of conscience, intelligence and choice. Because of this freedom and superiority, man's responsibility is also different and serious from other creations.

A. Caliphate or representation

Allah Almighty has sent man as His Caliph or representative on earth. The meaning of this Caliphate is to establish the laws given by Allah on earth and to govern the creation according to the laws of Allah. By fulfilling this responsibility, man worships Allah on the one hand and takes care of the creation on the other.

B. Maintaining balance

Man must maintain the balance between creation and the Creator. He must enjoy the benefits of serving the creation, but the limits must not be exceeded. He must be fair to the environment, nature and other living beings. He cannot betray the trust of Allah by using any of the resources of nature arbitrarily.

C. Life of Test

Allah created man primarily for testing. This test is: Does man use his freedom to immerse himself in the service of creation and forget Allah, or does he consider creation as a blessing from Allah and benefit from it and immerse himself in worshipping Allah? In this regard, Allah says:

"He who created death and life, that He may test you as to which of you is best in deed?"

— [Surah Al-Mulk, 67:2]

Being a servant of creation is a great honor and favor for man. All these blessings are for the ease and enjoyment of man's life. And in contrast to these enjoyments, man's main duty is to worship his Creator. Worship is not just a formality, but to express obedience to Allah in every aspect of life.

Thus, man enjoys the blessings of Allah through serving creation and fulfills His purpose through His worship. In the successful fulfillment of this two-fold responsibility lies man's welfare in this world and salvation in the Hereafter. The goal of human life should be not to forget Allah with all the benefits He has given us, but rather to use them as aids to worship and to live our lives as dutiful servants and representatives of Allah on this earth.lvation: Worship is the salvation of a person in the Hereafter.
