Knowing about leukoplakia have a lot of benefits and importance, part of it are the following :
1- It helps people in general to stay away from any habit they could to leukoplakia such as tobacco usage, alcoholism and smoking
2- Early diagnosis of leukoplakia reduces the risk of oral cancer by helping the patient to go for early treatment and management
3- it also helps the health provider to counsel the patient on necessary steps to be taken to avoid its re-occurrence
4- It helps the patient to be mindful of any habit that could surpress their immune system especially in patient who have been previously infect with EBV virus or Syphilis infection that could cause hairy leukoplakia
