Russia offers mediation between Indo-Pak tensions
According to a press statement issued by Pakistan's Foreign Ministry, there cannot be any better option for resolving all issues except its 'dialogue and peaceful means'. This Russia has offered help while reducing the growing tension between India and Pakistan on Friday. This Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has spoken to his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on telephone to discuss the situation.
There, the Russian Foreign Minister encouraged Pakistan and India to resolve all issues with dialogue and peaceful methods. This Foreign Minister Qureshi appreciated Russia's balanced and constructive role in reducing tension in the region. The statement which was well received was added. The Foreign Minister welcomed the Russian proposal and said that he had accepted Russia's constructive role in the first session of the Joint Session of the Parliament in the day.
This Foreign Minister Lavrov reiterated Russia's mediation offer. He has a venue for talks between India and Pakistan. When, he was pursuing a Pakistani F16 fighter aircraft which had moved to the Indian air space. Two days later when he was thrown into MiG-21 Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir "POK", he was taken into custody by the Pakistani army. This Pakistan released the Indian Air Force's Wing Commander Abhinandan on Friday, besides two Foreign Ministers have agreed to continue the consultation to promote peace and stability in the region.
