Creando una ensalada de pera

I have always loved salads, they are a perfect starter that can whet the appetite and can even serve as a main dish, for example, when it comes to Caesar salad. I like to try new ingredients for salads and even add fruit, but I had never prepared a salad with fruit as the main ingredient until the moment came. I had a pear at home and I thought of making a salad with a contrast between sweet, sour, salty and adding a crunchy touch.

I have never been a person who eats a lot of fruits, but pears seem to me such a sweet and juicy fruit that every time I can I buy it, although it is not usual to find it as easily here as other fruits.

Now join me and I'll show you how I made this pear salad.

I started by removing the skin from the pear and then cut it into thin slices, I put lemon in so that the slices would not turn brown.

My main idea was to select blue cheese or brie, as they are constantly used in recipes with pear, however, I did not locate any of these in the Rio supermarket I usually visit, so I had to change my original plan and went to the fridges and opted to select Edam cheese and thought I would also bring a smoked turkey ham to add a deeper flavor to the salad.

The cheese came in slices and I proceeded to cut it in a triangular shape and the smoked turkey ham I also gave a pyramidal shape, on the other hand, I added a touch of acidity with dehydrated cranberries and walnuts that I cut into small pieces.

Now all that was left to do was to add the rest of the ingredients, I started by adding some of the cranberries, then I interspersed the smoked turkey ham and the Edam cheese, to finish with more cranberries and walnuts. You can use about two slices of cheese and ham, about four walnuts, and a handful of dried cranberries, but it all depends on your taste.
