Final months of 2023

I remember both of us being exhausted from all the issues in October, having no water for close to a month, and suddenly have to move to another home as well as buy tons of things because we rented a home that included most items. Things didn't go quite smooth, such as our beds that were totally messed up, things like that were stressful and I was drained for quite some time after we moved. And I didn't even have a fulltime job to attend to like my boyfriend, who was also overloaded with work most weeks. Respect for him, I tell you.

Mantra

To get through these shitty periods, I keep repeating to myself: "You've been through much worse, come on, this too shall pass". And it always does, it's just that sometimes this period drags on a bit too long to my liking, but hey, what to do if things are in other people's hands, right? At least we have a bigger home, a better landlady and better beds, lol. And no, this place is not perfect either but I'm extremely grateful for the upgrade because we needed it!

Us time

But this phase was difficult on the both of us and we really needed some us time, without the little one joining us so that we could eat in peace for once. A friend told us about this place and she didn't exaggerate at all, this place serves GOOD food! This was such a nice change from the typical tapas bars because here the servings are bigger (still nice to share a plate) but also more expensive. We've now been here twice and both times we paid a bit more than we'd liked but we enjoyed every bite (and sip) of it!

Good company and food!

So let's see what we tried the first visit, I swear it was so good! For starters, and because I love most things potatoes, lol, we had yucca fries with guacamole. Normally my boyfriend doesn't eat the yucca fries as he doesn't fancy them but here he tried them again and approved. I know why he doesn't like them from the other place that serves them, they often serve them still quite tough, which I don't enjoy either. These were done well! The guacamole was delicious too!

Next up: meat!

Although I can do without meat very well, if I have enough good veggies to my availability, my boyfriend surely can't. He could be a carnivore for sure and has the least issues with his stomach when there's meat. I'm the opposite, lol I can't handle too much meat so I naturally have some sort of break inside that prevents me from eating too much meat. Whenever I ignore this, I will pay for it sadly.

I tried this rib though, and it was the best meat I had in months! It was SO GOOD! I just don't like eating from the bone and mostly picked the meat off with my cutlery while my boyfriend made sure to eat every bit left, haha. And I understand it it was so tender and tasteful!

Celebration!

We had something to celebrate so I treated myself to a banana daiquiri. I don't think I've ever had one before but damn, I love it! Whenever I have alcohol cravings again, I'm going to see if I can find the ingredients here so I can make it at home.

The highlight of the evening

Although I loved the steak, this last thing we ordered was definitely the winner for me. It was a salmon tartar I think they called it with avocado, sea weed and some more fruits and whatnot. Served with 4 crackers (lol, as if that's enough!) and some nice dressing, this was so light and tasteful. The flavours really matched together so well that it was foodgasmic!

It was quite a big plate they served so good to share and definitely one to repeat the next visit. The night was great, but mostly it was nice to be out and about together for an evening and be able to talk without interruptions or complaining about food.
