The 33rd Match of the Indian Premier League 2024 was played yesterday between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh. In which Mumbai Indians defeated Punjab Kings by 9 runs.
TOSS- Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bowl.
Mumbai Indians Innings- Mumbai Indians batted first and started the inning very strongly, althought the first wicket was dismissed very quickly, Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma came to start the inning, the first wicket was dismissed for 18 runs in 2.1 over, Ishan Kishan was dismissed for 8 runs in 8 balls, next batsman Suryakumar Yadav came to bat handled the inning and played a very brilliant half-century partnership of 81 runs with Rohit Sharma, the second wicket was dismissed for 99 runs in 11.4 over, Rohit Sharma was dismissed after scroing 36 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 2 boundaries in just 25 balls, followed by Tilak Varma came to bat and handled the inning with Suryakumar Yadav, the third wicket was dismissed for 148 runs in 16.2 over, Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed after playing a very brilliant half-century inning of 78 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 7 boundaries in just 53 balls, next batsman Hardik Pandya came to bat and he good strike rotate for a while with Suryakumar Yadav, the fourth wicket was dismissed for 167 runs in last ball of the 18th over, Hardik Pandya was dismissed for 10 runs in 6 balls, next batsman Tim David came to bat and played well for a while with Tilak Varma, the fifth wicket was dismissed for 190 runs in 19.2 over, Tim David was dismissed for 14 runs in just 7 balls, next batsman Romario Shepherd came to bat and was dismissed just for 1 run in 2 balls as sixth wicket in 19.5 over, the team score was 192 runs, followed by Mohammad Nabi came to bat and he was run-out in final ball of the inning without scroing in just 1 ball, and Tilak Varma played a very brilliant quick unbeaten inning of 34 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 2 boundaries in just 18 balls. In this way, Mumbai Indians scored 192 runs after losing 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and set a target of 193 runs for Punjab Kings.
Punjab Kings bowlers- Harshal Patel took 3 wickets for 31 runs in his spell, Sam Curran 2 wickets for 41 runs in his spell, Kagiso Rabada 1 wicket for 42 runs in his spell, Harpreet Brar was wicketless for 21 runs in 3 overs, Arshdeep Singh wicketless for 35 runs in 3 overs, and Liam Livingstone also wicketless for 16 runs in 2 overs.
Punjab Kings inning- Punjab Kings chasing 193 runs in the second inning the entire team was dismissed just for 183 runs in the first ball of the final over and lost the match by 9 runs. Punjab Kings started the inning very poorly, lost 4 wickets in just 14 runs. Ashutosh Sharma played a very brilliant quick half-century inning of 61 runs with the help of 7 sixes and 2 boundaries in just 28 balls, Shashank Singh played a brilliant quick inning of 41 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 2 boundaries in just 25 balls, Harpreet Brar scored 21 runs in 20 balls, Harpreet Singh Bhatia 13 runs in 15 balls, apart from this, no batsman could touch figure out of double-digits runs, Sam Curran was dismissed just for 6 runs in 7 balls, Prabhsimran Singh dismissed just in 1 ball without scoring, Rilee Rossouw 1 run in 3 balls, Liam Livingstone 1 run in 2 balls, Jitesh Sharma 9 runs in 9 balls, Kagiso Rabada 8 runs in 3 balls, and Harshal Patel remained unbeaten for 1 run in 4 balls. Mumbai Indians bowlers performed very brilliant bowling, Jasprit Bumrah took 3 wickets just for 21 runs in his spell, Gerald Coetzee 3 wickets for 32 runs in his spell, Hardik Pandya 1 wicket for 33 runs in his spell, Akash Madhwal 1 wicket for 46 runs in 3.1 overs, Shreyas Gopal 1 wicket for 26 runs in 2 overs, and Romario Shepherd was wicketless for 20 runs in 2 overs.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH- Mumbai Indians bowler Jasprit Bumrah was selected as the player of the match, he performed very brilliant took 3 wickets just for 21 runs in his spell.
