The 2nd T20I Match of the Sri Lanka tour of Bangladesh, 2024 was played today at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet. In which Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by 8 wickets,
TOSS- Bangladesh won the toss and invited Sri Lanka to bat first.
Sri Lanka Innings- Sri Lanka batted first and started the inning very well although the first wicket was dismissed very quickly, Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis came to start the inning, the first wicket was dismissed very quickly just for 1 run in 1.4 over, Avishka Fernando was dismissed in just 7 balls without scoring, next batsman Kamindu Mendis came to bat handled the inning and played a brilliant half-century partnership of 66 runs with Kusal Mendis, the second wicket was dismissed for 67 runs in 8.4 over, Kusal Mendis dismissed after scoring 36 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 2 boundaries in just 22 balls, next batsman Sadeera Samarawickrama came to bat, after a few moments the third wicket also dismissed for 77 runs in 9.4 over, Kamindu Mendis dismissed after scoring 37 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 3 boundaries in just 27 balls, followed by Charith Asalanka came to bat, after a few moments the fourth wicket also dismissed for 92 runs in 12.2 over, Sadeera Samarawickrama was dismissed just for 7 runs in 11 balls, next batsman Angelo Mathews came to bat and played well with Charith Asalanka, the fifth wicket was dismissed for 112 runs in 13.5 over, Charith Asalanka dismissed after playing a quick inning of 28 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 1 boundary in just 14 balls, followed by Dasun Shanaka came to bat handled the inning and played an unbeaten inning of 20 runs in 18 balls with Angelo Mathews, and Angelo Mathews also played an unbeaten inning of 32 runs with the help of 4 boundaries in just 21 balls. In this way, Sri Lanka scored 165 runs after losing 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and set a target of 166 runs for Bangladesh.
