The European Commission accused Apple of violating EU antitrust rules in the area of music streaming.

The Commission opposed the compulsory use of the internal mechanism of purchases within the Apple music applications. According to the EC, Apple also applies certain restrictions to the developers of streaming applications, not allowing them to inform users about alternative, cheaper purchase options.

It is a question of applying these rules to all music streaming apps that compete with Apple Music in the European Economic Area, the EC specifies.
