The European Union and the UK announced an agreement to establish a permanent representation of the EU in London. This is stated in a joint statement by the head of the European Union's foreign policy service, Josep Borrell, as well as British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab.

"We are pleased to have reached an agreement, based on pragmatism and goodwill, to create an EU mission in the UK. The EU ambassador will be accorded a status corresponding to the head of a foreign diplomatic mission, including the presentation of credentials to the head of state. EU mission personnel will have the privileges and [diplomatic] immunity necessary to work effectively, and we look forward to being able to move forward in responding to global challenges," the document said.
