On 7 January 2011, he was brutally murdered at Anantapur border of Fulbari upazila of Kurigram. Fellani was shot dead by BSF jawan Amiya Ghosh of 181 Battalion Chowdhuryhat camp. Criticism of Felani's body hanging up in the tremble came to the media and the foreign media. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) demanded the trial of the murder of Felani on 13 August 2013 in the special court of India's Cooch Behar BSF. On September 6 of that year, the court acquitted BSF member Amiya Ghosh, the accused. In the Special Court of the BSF, without naming justice for the murder of the girl, in the year 2015, the High Court of India filed a writ writ petition by father Nurul Islam. The case is still pending.
