আমাদের সমাজে এমন অনেক মানুষ আছে যারা জীবনে অনেক কষ্ট করে, এরা অনেক কষ্ট করে পড়াশোনা করে, এই মানুষগুলো গরিব হওয়ার কারণে সব দিক থেকে কষ্ট করতে থাকে, তারা ঠিক মত খেতে পারে না, থাকার জন্য ভাল কোন জায়গা থাকে না, ভাল কোন পোশাক পরিধান করতে পারে না। এদেরকে সমাজের সবাই অপমান করে, এদের কেউ দেখতে পারে না।

কিন্তু এই মানুষগুলো যখন নিজের চেষ্টায় সফলতা পায় তখন আগের কষ্ট ভুলে যায়, এবং অভাবের সময় যারা তাদের দেখতে পারত না তারাই তখন পাশে এসে ঘোরাঘুরি করে এবং তাদের সাথে সম্পর্ক বজায় রাখার চেষ্টা করে। তাদের পাশে অভাবের সময় কেউ থাকে না, কিন্তু তারা যখন পরিশ্রম করে সেই অভাব দুর করে এবং সচ্ছল হয় তখন অনেক মানুষ তাদের কাছে আসে।

আজকে আমার ছোটবেলার এক বন্ধুর ফেসবুকের পোস্ট দেখে এই কথাগুলো মনে পড়ল, সে তার ফেসবুক একাউন্টে লিখেছে যে, এক সময় তার কাছে তিন হাজার টাকা দিয়ে একটা পুরাতন সাইকেল কেনার সমর্থ ছিল না, কিন্তু এখন সে পাঁচ লাখ টাকার মোটরসাইকেল চালায় এবং তার দোকান কয়েক লাখ টাকা দিয়ে সাজিয়েছে।

আমি তাকে ছোটবেলা থেকেই চিনি, আমরা ছোটবেলায় এক সাথে পড়াশোনা করেছি, ছোটবেলায় তার বাবা মারা যায়, তার বাবা মারা যাওয়ার পর খুব কষ্টে তাদের সংসার চলে, সে অনেক কষ্ট করে পড়াশোনা করে, পড়াশোনা শেষ করে ছোট একটা চাকরি করত, কিন্তু চার বছর আগে সে একটা ছোট ব্যবসা শুরু করে,  এবং সেই ব্যবসার মাধ্যমে কঠিন পরিশ্রম করতে থাকে। এখন সে ঐ ব্যবসার মাধ্যমে সফল হয়েছে।

তার পরিশ্রম আমি দেখেছি, সে বাংলাদেশের বহু জায়গায় গিয়েছে ব্যবসার জন্য, সারারাত বাসে করে সফর করেছে আবার দিনে নিজের জায়গায় এসে দোকান পরিচালনা করেছে। সে যখন প্রথম ব্যবসা শুরু করে তখন বিকাশ এজেন্ট এর খুব প্রয়োজন ছিল কিন্তু বিকাশ তাকে এজেন্ট দেয় নাই, কিন্তু এখন বিকাশ কোম্পানী তার কাছে এসে তাকে অনুরোধ করে বিকাশের এজেন্ট দিয়েছে এবং তাকে মিষ্টি খাইয়ে গিয়েছে। এই জন্য আমাদেরও সফল হতে হলে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করতে হবে।
