Liverpool's road to Wembley | Emirates FA Cup

Oxlade-Chamberlain off, Taki Minamino on.

Naby Keita off, Luis Diaz on.

Fabinho off, Henderson on.

Elliott off, Thiago Alcantara on.

All these happened in the 64th minute of the game that just ended between Nottingham Forest and Liverpool Fc. An FA Cup cracker between these two rivals.

Warra a game!

If you know anything about Jurgen Kloop, the gaffer of Liverpool Fc, you will understand that he is one of those managers that usually like to make substitutions during the final 15 minutes of the game. Most of the time, the substitute players usually come in to maintain the tempo, control the game and parry the ball till the final whistle.

Of course, Liverpool is usually heavy with their attacks and they have players who have been brilliant in front of goal. But! Today's game was the type that warranted grinding out a win.

For the record, Klopp has always been focused on 'bigger tournaments'. The likes of Premier League and Champions League. This time around, from all indicators, it's obvious that he is going to hunt the silverware in all forms.

He has already secured the League Cup a month ago. Lifting that trophy and still having a chance to win a record quadruple for an English team is one of the obvious motivations we can see in the performance Liverpool display week-in week-out across all competition. The gaffer, the players, the fans and every other Liverpool stakeholder have already tasted how it feels to win this silverware and I must say that our appetite is whetted. We want to go for quadruple this season. Hehe.

It's surely not an easy thing. This has never been done before in England and the fact that Guardiola's Manchester City are still in 3 of these competitions means that we have a bunch of drama coming up.

Brief Review of today's Game

It was an intense one between Nottingham Forest and Liverpool. Liverpool made a much-needed change to the starting lineup.

  • Trent was ruled out because of injury so he will also be missing out on international duty, but Gomez was able to play in the RB position today. He wasn't as sound as TAA on the attacking end of the pitch, but I can't fault him defensively.

  • Kostas Tsimikas also got to play the left-back position today. He played pretty well attacking wise and was solid in defence. Most of his crosses were not connecting. He tried 2-3 direct shots, but it wasn't on goal. He still made an assist to the only goal that was scored in the tournament. Warra player. Hehe.

  • Virgil and Konate are ALWAYS solid in the CB position. They also aced it today.

This should be all. Every other person did well. Chamberlain was gutted when he got subbed and I felt for him, but it was the best choice at the time and I'm glad that the gaffer made that decision. The game ended with a goal to nil in favour of Liverpool.

Our next game in this FA Cup will be against Manchester City. The footballing world is not ready for how intense that game would be. Hehe.

Let's enjoy the international break. I hope all these players get to play in their national team and get back to their club side in one piece.
