The numbers and statistics behind City's 5-1 win over Fulham in the Premier League

City is the only team in the Premier League that has won its first four games of the 23/24 season.

Erling Haaland was one of the great protagonists of the last 5-1 victory against Fulham, with his first hat-trick of the course in the second half, with which he already has six goals in four games.

These are the numbers left by the victory against the Cottagers at the Etihad.

40 for Haaland

Erling Haaland has scored 40 Premier League goals faster than any other player in the competition's history.

He won the Golden Boot in 2022/23 by scoring 36 goals, the most in a single Premier League season, surpassing the previous mark of 34 shared by Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole.

Erling already scored twice in the 2023/24 opening game in the 3-0 win over Burnley and netted another in the 2-1 win against Sheffield United.

His 40th goal made it 3-1 momentarily against Fulham before raising the tally to 42 goals since his arrival in Manchester in the summer of 2022.

Haaland managed to surpass 40 goals in 39 top-flight games, six games faster than Shearer and Cole, who reached the mark in 45 games.

In addition to 40 scored, Erling Haaland already has more than 50 goal appearances.

In total, he registers 42 goals and 9 assists.

Erling has done it in just 39 Premier League games, breaking Andrew Cole's record of 43 games, to become the fastest player to reach 50 goals and assists in the competition.

A clinical City.

City showed their most effective facet in the 5-1 win over Fulham.

The five goals (Álvarez, Aké and Haaland with his hat-trick) came in just seven shots.

The last team from the five major European leagues to score five goals from a maximum of seven shots was Leicester, ironically against City, in September 2020.

That afternoon ended with a 2-5 win for the Foxes at the Etihad.

Triple hat trick

Lining Haaland was not the only player to score a hat-trick in the Premier League on Saturday.

In addition to Haaland, Son Heung-min scored three goals for Tottenham in a 5-2 win at Burnley, while Evan Ferguson scored his hat trick for Brighton in their 3-1 win at Newcastle.

It is only the second time that three different players have scored a hat-trick in the Premier League on the same day.

The last time was on September 23, 1995, scored by Tony Yeboah, Robbie Fowler and Alan Shearer.

Yeboah scored three goals in Leeds' 4-2 away win at Wimbledon, Fowler scored his in Liverpool's 5-2 win over Bolton at Anfield, while Shearer scored his hat-trick in the 5-2 win. 1 for Blackburn over Coventry.
