When He said that He existed before Abraham was born, He undeniably proclaims His divinity. He also applied God's holy name "I AM"** **… And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Exodus 3:14 KJV** **I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Isaiah 42:8 KJV**  **His claim to deity demands a response.. It cannot be ignored. The Jewish leaders tried to stone Jesus for blasphemy because He claimed equality with God. But Jesus is God.
