YIELDED TO HIS WILL

"Then I said, 'Behold, I have
come... To do Your will, O God'" (Heb. 10:7).

Doing the will of God in any area of life is the best thing that pleases God. The refusal to do the will of God is tantamount to rebellion and affront which annoys Him greatly as in the case of King Saul (1 Sam 15). The will of God was that the Amalekites and all they had should be completely destroyed but Saul disobeyed the commandment, spared Agag the king and brought him home together with the best of the animals. When he unsuccessfully tried to defend himself before Samuel, that those things were for sacrifice to God, the latter told him that God took no delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obedience, that obedience was better than sacrifice as rebellion was like the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness like iniquity and idolatry.

This of course, led to his rejection by God. The will of God may not always be very easy and pleasant to carry out, yet it is always rewarding in life and eternity.

Satan will always stop at nothing to make sure human beings wouldn't do God's will. He tried to dissuade the LORD in the wilderness and Gethsemane from doing God's will for which He came into the world but through prayer and determination he was roundly defeated (Matt 4:1-10; 26:36-45). The death on the cross was God's will for Him which the devil made to taste bitter. Without the LORD'S determination to drink this bitter cup, there would have been no Phil.2:5-11. Please read it, His exaltation as LORD! His example is good enough for us in all areas of our lives. Your determination to do God's will shall endear you to God as a man after His heart and lift you up above your fellows.

Total obedience to do that which pleases God is the best we can do for God.
