HE IS RISEN (EASTER)
"But the angel answered and said to the women, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He is risen as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay'" (Matt. 28:5-6, NKJV)
The resurrection of the Christ is a historical fact. It is also one of the cardinal realities responsible for the uniqueness of the life we enjoy in Christ.
It leaves us with the assurance that our heritage in Christ is beyond what life on earth can offer. It also attests that there is incredible power in Christianity. The beauty of it all is not just that God raised Him from the dead but also that the very power that raised Him from the dead is functional in our lives too.
In essence, the resurrection power is the incomprehensible power of God in the salvation of men. It is equally responsible for our upkeep in the faith. On the physical level, it reintroduced life to the cold and mangled dead body it reopened the blocked arteries, it revived the heart, the lungs, and the entire body system, it keeps them alive and functional. In the spiritual, it broke the yoke of slavery to sin and introduced us to a higher level of life of co-heirs with Christ. Thanks to God that He did rise from the dead, else, our faith would have been in vain if He did not (1 Corinthians 15:17-19). Thanks to God that we have risen with Him to a newness of life (Rom 6:3-4).
Without the resurrection of Christ our faith is vain.
