In a collaboration with the worldwide-known football coach Jose Mourinho, MasterCard’s UK branch has launched its first NFT giveaway. All MasterCard holders in the UK will now be eligible to win one NFT, as long as they sign up to become eligible for the promotion. 

The renowned financial services corporation issued a statement sharing the news, confirming that it has joined the NFT craze and in collaboration with the global MasterCard ambassador, Jose Mourinho, has launched this exciting giveaway. 

Details About the NFT Giveaway

MasterCard UK has created an animated digital football as its first NFT. And although already hinting at the Mourinho collaboration with the football image, the NFT also features the coach's signature over it. Instead of getting a chance to win the NFT on an auction, all UK MasterCard cardholders will get a chance to win it by participating in a special giveaway. 

The corporation announced the giveaway on the 16th of September, Thursday. But, all interested MasterCard cardholders in the UK would need to enter the giveaway promotion by the 30th of September. The entrance will be free to book, but sign up will be mandatory. The financial services corporation will select one winner out of those that entered the promotion, at random. The winner will receive one single NFT. MasterCard’s sponsorship team will send the lucky winner an email after the prize draw, explaining the details of how to receive the NFT, which in turn, will be backed by MasterCard’s proprietary technology and hosted on its own server. 

MasterCard’s Moves in the Crypto World

Although this may be the corporation’s first NFT giveaway, it is not the first time MasterCard enters the crypto world. In fact, the financial services giant has already partnered with BitPay and Wirex for the development of crypto cards previously, allowing all users who own this card to transact using digital currencies. 

Last year, too, it has expanded its program to enable crypto partners to introduce payment cards compliant with the market. And this July, it has announced a payments card for companies involved in crypto, as well as a corporate program to help startups interested in working with cryptocurrencies.
