Lack of exposure or knowing your rights as a citizenry of a nation might makes you believe somethings are not your entitlement to be demanded from those representatives in the arms of government.
This usually makes abnormalities to become normal and the normal becomes abnormalities and vice-versa with people that know and stood firm for their rights and responsibilities.
In most third world countries, government's failure to provide pipe-borne water, created a class of bottled water consumers and borehole owners giving them the chances to take advantage of less privileged ones virtually in every sector of the economy which would be emphasised better below in this post.
Moreover, failure to provide security, they created a class of bulletproof car owners with armed escorts. This could make those enjoying this gorgeous services to have better security than common people on the street as it is.
Furthermore, lack of constant electricity supply, has lead to the emergence of generators owners and solar panel users who flaunts their quarters with electric bulbs and open more chances for them to productive than common man that has little or no access to such.
Moreso, failure to provide better and sound education, they created a class of private school students, and abroad students which could easily be sent for studies million dollars academic environment.
Likewise, failure to provide good health has lead to the creation of a class of abroad medical tourists usually composing of business men and political office beneficiaries either elected or appointed as it is.
The worst part of it is that, those classes created by the so called elites or whatever as a result of government and institutional failures are now the goal every one of us wants to reach. Such a mentality of most third world countries citizens.
To drink bottled water, juice or bottled consumable liquid, own a Mikano generator set or a bulletproof car, or travel abroad for academic or medicals, have become landmark achievements that institutional failure have made a lot of people dream of and even pray fervently for it especially in third world countries.
The rot in the society is up to the point that some people, in their bid to intimidate you or prove levels they are higher than you, say things such as: what I consumed is bottled water and not nylon sealed water; I schooled abroad; if I get some money, I will buy you all bulletproof cars; I don't use local and less equipped hospitals, I usually go abroad as regards health and medical management; our generator runs consistently non-stop.
All these activities are done and praised by backward communities with illiterate and underexposed dwellers that couldn't understand how a functioning and well controlled society should work.
Most people now take pride in things that set in because they were denied access to basic rights and amenities by those elected or appointed to provide them.
In a nutshell, the worst any government and it's agencies can do to its people or followers is to bring them to a point where abnormalities become normal, and normalities become an aberration for them. A perfect example of this attitude is in developing countries.
Most citizens don't even know what they were going through and the life they aspire and admire so much is not actually the normal way things ought to be as it is being done in saner climes nations as it is.
It is better for each individual to know his/her rights and entitlement from the representative government that presides over them.
