Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has just beaten out Lionel Messi to become the first player in history to score 700 official club goals. The Portuguese legend found the back of the net against Everton today, after being introduced just before the half-hour mark. That was Cristiano Ronaldo's first Premier League goal of the season and also coincidentally the goal that wrote his name into the record books.

A few weeks ago, Cristiano Ronaldo found it hard to break into Erik Ten Hag's team. The lack of pre-season and the good form of Martial, Rashford and Antony meant that Ronaldo more often than not found himself on the bench for United. And heading into the Everton game today, he was also expected to sit this one out but Martial, unfortunately, got injured in the first half and had to be substituted.

Ronaldo will be delighted with his goal today and would hope that it's enough to guarantee him a place in the team from now henceforth.
