At the recently concluded Ministers Conference, Live in Minna, Niger State, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, talked to the Ministers about "The Great Possibilities Of Prayer With Fasting."

 

 

The man of God however spoke about the importance of fasting and prayer. the Bible recorded that Jesus Christ fasted for 40 days and 40 Nights and it is important that Christians imbibe such activity if they want to get miracles from God. Jesus told his disciples in Matthew 17:21, "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting" when they were unable to perform miracles.

 

 

 

The man of God then spoke about the benefits of fasting but urged its members to ensure that they take water during fasting. he said that Jesus Christ took water during his 40-day fasting on earth and then gave a Bible verse to justify the claim. "And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. Being forty days tempted by the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterwards hungered." Luke 4:1-2.

 

 

It was recorded that Jesus Christ was hungry but not that he was thirsty. So it meant that he drank water during hisfasting because it is almost impossible for someone to stay for 40 days without eating and drinking. So when you want to fast, ensure you take water. It also has some health benefits.
