Croatia beat Morocco this afternoon 2-1 at the Khalifa International stadium in Doha and finished in third place in the Qatar 2022 World Cup after getting runner-up in Russia 2018.

Joško Gvardiol and Mislav Orsic scored the goals, while Achraf Dari had scored the partial equalizer.

It is worth remembering that Croatia had just lost 0-3 to Argentina. They began the World Cup with a goalless draw against Morocco, then beat Canada 4-1, drew 0-0 vs. Belgium and in the round of 16 and quarterfinals beat Japan and Brazil on penalties after 1-1 in 120 minutes respectively.

Morocco, for its part, was the great revelation of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. After drawing against Croatia, they beat Belgium 2-0 and Canada 2-1.

In the round of 16 they eliminated Spain on penalties after 0-0 in the 120' minute and in the quarterfinals they beat Portugal 1-0. In the semis, they fell 0-2 against France.
