U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will meet with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas during a working trip to Britain and raise the issue of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
"I think we will have separate bilateral talks with Germany. "Nord Stream 2 remains an issue. We will continue to make very clear to Germany our views on this project, that it must be stopped," he pointed out.
The secretary of state will travel to London to attend a meeting of G7 foreign and development ministers (Canada, the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Britain and Italy). It will begin May 3.
In late March, Blinken already discussed Nord Stream 2 with Maas and noted that Washington opposes its launch.
