Some of the main beneficiaries of Joe Biden's presidential victory were the wealthiest Americans - their fortunes increased by $195 billion in the first 100 days of his presidency.

Biden was sworn in as president on January 20. He announced $1.9 trillion in government stimulus programs, and it was that money that drove the stock exchanges higher, allowing the S&P 500 and Dow Jones to rise more than 10 percent.

"We've seen this paradox since the 2008 financial crash with quantitative easing, which basically benefited people with assets by greatly increasing their value," explained the phenomenon, Mike Savage, professor of sociology at the London School of Economics.
