The people of Saidpur have lost a lot of compassionate leader "Amjad Hassan Bhaje".

Former Member of Parliament and current mayor and mayoral candidate in the municipal elections Amjad Hossain Sarkar (VJ) did not go back to the country. He breathed his last at 6:30 am on Thursday, January 14 at the Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in Dhaka. For a long time he was suffering from coronary heart disease as well as diabetes and lung diseases.

Amjad Hossain Sarkar was elected Member of Parliament from BNP in the 8th National Assembly, Mayor of the Municipality three times and Chairman of the Upazila Parishad once. He was the secretary of the BNP central and village government affairs and a member of the convening committee of the present Syedpur political district BNP.

BNP leader Abdul Gafur Sarkar said that a renegade leader like him was rare, the people of Syedpur lost in his death. He was a loyal leader of the people.
The death of Mayor Amjad Hossain Sarkar has cast a shadow of mourning over Syedpur.
