"As the servant was busy here andthere he was gone" (1 Kings 20:40).

A tyrant is a leader that is an absolute dictator, an autocrat or despot that exercises his authority without constitutional restrictions, legal boundaries or oppositions whatsoever. In our discourse now, any tendency or disposition that pressurizes a person or group without leaving breathing space or option is tyrannical. Most urgent issues in our everyday life rudely crash into us and knockout other things panting for attention, they so arrest one's attention that other things become secondary. Here is where personal discipline, 

diligence and integrity are measured.

A tyrant is a cruel leader, inconsiderate, selfish and oppressive, uses his subjects as he wills just to achieve his ambition. He wants results, a satanic philosophy springing out from "the ends justify the means." Many a time, multiple issues crop up around us that we are hard-pressed, oppressed, depressed and then we are thrown off-balance and lose focus. We fail altogether to distinguish the relative importance of each issue with its time bearing. We forget the counsel of the Preacher, "There is time for everything under the sun."

Our golden text is a voluntary verbiage of a hyper busy king, who ended up "busy doing nothing. the right thing was left undone. How does this short narrative describe a number of us? May God give us understanding that will deliver us from the tyranny of the urgent, being busy on the wrong things that the rights are left undone. 

1. Develop a"To-do"list for each day and week.

2. Note life threatening issues and handle them

3. Designate God's demands.

4. Check out family matters.

5. Business obligations and Appointments.

6. Financial responsibility and appointments.

7. Relationship matters that are pending.

8. Unfinished businesses that are to be tidied up.

9. Community, society and neighbourhood.

10. Any other thing that surfaces.

If you learn to work on your daily schedules, you can hardly be victim of the tyranny of the urgent. Plan your life, an organized person will always come out strong and embrace the finish line.

An organized person will always reach the finish-line and end strong.
